One of Mr. Nkosi's design projects for Warman Olsen Warman,
Architects Chicago,
was this elevator and emergency stair tower as part of an overall
interior renovation
of this Substance Abuse Center.
Several
design schemes were explored. All utilized the same building
material of
split-face concrete block. This material was selected for its
attractive, durable,
simple and cost.

The final design scheme implemented was a variation on
scheme "B."
The
simplicity of the roof line, entry element and center
window design provide the most cost effective design
solution.
