the six (6) Atlanta neighborhoods -
• Atlanta University Center
• M. L. King, Jr. Historic District
• Mechanicsville
• Peoplestown
• Summerhill
• Vine City
-impacted by the 1996 Summer Olympic Games held in Atlanta.
The project involved the mapping and cataloging of all projects
planned in these neighborhoods, particularly along the "Olympic
Corridors", by community organizations, public, and private
corporations.

The primary goal of our client was to identify which
redevelopment projects would be completed by 1996.
MXD mapped every known project, from renovations
to new construction to street improvements, which
allowed ANDP and other interested agencies (the City
of Atlanta, Department of Housing, CODA, AEDC, etc.)
to identify the "gaps" in the planning and construction
process along the Olympic Corridors. This effort assisted a
ll concerned to fill "projects gaps" prior to the opening
of the 1996 Olympic games.
This project required us to gather data from each of the
six neighborhood community development corporations
(CDCs), the City, CODA, Georgia D.O.T., Fulton
County, and private organizations such as the Sweet
Auburn Area Improvement Association, Georgia Pacific,
NationsBank [Bank of Am] CDC, and ACOG to name a few.
This mapping and project analysis have given us added
insight and unparalleled experience in working with, and
gathering data from community organizations.
