Safety
In formulating strategies with our clients to improve their communities and buildings a lack of feeling safe on the street is a reoccurring problem statement. One of the major impediments to successful neighborhood development has been crime or the perception of crime. Lending institutions have used issues such as crime as a factor in divestment in certain neighborhoods. Developers have also cited crime or the perception of crime as a reason for not developing in certain communities. It has been our goal to help reduce the perception and the opportunity for crime by alteration of the physical environment. Our commitment to the successful implementation of neighborhood revitalization projects has prompted us make CPTED a proactive process in our work. Since 1995 this Studio has provided urban safety analysis and crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) as part of our comprehensive services.
